Product Description
The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ apparatus consists of a centrifugal blower, which delivers the required quantity of air. The air passing through the pipe is heated by an electrical heater. The temperatures of air entering and leaving heating section are measured by thermocouples. By knowing heater input and mass flow of air, (which is measured with the help of an orifice and water manometer) specific heat of air at constant pressure can be calculated. The test section is well insulated to minimise the heat losses. Silica gel is provided at blower delivery to reduce the effects of moisture content in air. In order to determine the specific heat of air at different temperatures air quantity and heater input can be varied.
SPECIFICATIONS
1) Centrifugal blower – 1/2 HP capacity, provided with silica gel dryer at delivery and butterfly valve control at suction.
2) Heater section – 75mm. G.I. pipe fitted with 1kw. capacity nichrome wire air heater inside and glass wool insulation outside.
3) Measurements & Controls –
- Calibrated orifice with water manometer to measure airflow.
- Dimmer stat to control input to the heater.
- A voltmeter & an ammeter to measure the input to the heater.
- Multi channel digital temperature indicator to measure the temperatures at various points.
A technical manual accompanies the unit.
