Product Description

Study of unsteady state heat conduction in solids can be demonstrated by hydraulic analogue. The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ apparatus consists of eight vertical glass tubes mounted on a board, representing different slabs in the material. Two header tanks on either sides of tubes represent surface temperatures. The tubes are connected at the bottom by adjustable resistance pipes. Resistance is adjusted by needle valves. The left hand heater tank can be moved up – down sinusoidally (for sinusoidal temperature variation of the surface temperature). The fluid (i.e. water) is circulated by a small pump. Thus the students can visualize and study temperature distribution for sinusoidal and step change of surface temperatures with respect to time and compare with theory.
