Product Description

The motion of the belt and pulley in actual practice is assumed to be in a firm frictional grip. But sometimes this grip becomes insufficient and the belt slips on the pulley. This slip can be measured in the form of percentage. Also the expansion and contraction of the belt portion when it passes from the slack side to the tight side and vice versa, there is a relative motion between the belt and pulley. This motion is termed as creep. The equipment consists of two pulleys connected with a belt drive. One of the pulley (driven) is connected in line with the rope brake drum while the other pulley (driver) is connected to the motor. The tension to the belt can be adjusted by a weight and pan arrangement. The speeds of pulleys are sensed with the rpm indicators. The difference in the speeds indicates the slip. Creep is a observatory phenomenon.
