Product Description

Compression ratio plays an important role in petrol engines. The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ unit provides evaluation of petrol engine characteristics over a range of compression ratios. The unit consists of a four stroke petrol engine provided with a special cylinder head so that compression ratio can be varied. An arrangement to vary the ignition timing is also provided to study its effect. Various measurement are provided to estimate the performance of engine.

SPECIFICATIONS
1. Petrol Engine – Four stroke, air cooled, with compression ratio varying arrangement. Range- 4.5 : 1 to 9.5:1
2. Rope Brake Dynamometer with loading pulley & spring balances. or
Electrical Dynamometer with water loading arrangement & energy meter to measure the load.
Also, hydraulic Dynamometer can be supplied instead of Rope Brake Dynamometer & Electrical Dynamometer
3. Fuel intake measurement arrangement.
4. Air intake measurement arrangement.
5. Manometer to measure exhaust gas back pressure.
6. Exhaust gas calorimeter.
7. Ignition timing varying arrangement. From 280 B T D C to 100 A T D C.
8. Digital temperature indicator to measure the temperatures at various points.
A technical manual is supplied alongwith the unit
The unit is provided with anticorrosion attractive powder coating.

SERVICES REQUIRED
1. 230V, 5 A , AC supply with earthing connection.
2. Water supply at the rate of about 8 lit/min.
3. Concrete foundation as per our drawing.
4. Tachometer to measure the speed.
