Product Description

The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ unit consists of a small room under test. Air conditioning system is provided for this room, which consists of hermetic compressor, air cooled condenser, expansion valve, direct expansion cooling coil, preheaters and reheaters. As done in large systems, arrangement to recirculate the air partially or fully is provided. A centrifugal blower circulates air and volume of fresh air inlet and air recirculated are controlled by butterfly valves. Various measurements provided enable students to study the principles of recirculation.

SPECIFICATIONS
1) Cooling Circuit – 3/4 ton capacity compressor using R-22 refrigerant, air cooled condenser, thermostatic expansion valve and direct expansion cooling coil is fitted in square duct.
2) Preheater and Reheater fitted in duct.
3) Steam injector with electrical steam generator for injecting steam in conditioning section.
4) Heater in test room to simulate heat load.
5) Measurements

  • Multichnnel digital temperature indicator for cooling cycle and air temperature measurements with dry & wet thermocouples.
  • Pressure gauges for condensing and evaporating pressure.
  • Energymeters 2 nos. for heaters & compressor.
  • Vane type Anemometer to measure air velocity.

6) Control & safety

  • Dimmer for room heater control.
  • Butterfly valves 3 nos. to regulate the air flow.
  • Needle valve to control steam injection.
  • High/low pressure cutout for cooling cycle.
  • Thermostat for room temperature.
  • Filter cum dryer for refrigerant.
  • Switches for various electrical unit.
  • Dimmer for heater control in conditioning section.

EXPERIMENTS
1) Study of summer cooling OR winter heating cycle.
2) Operation of system as window air conditioner. (Closed circuit)
3) Study of humidification and dehumidification.
4) Partial recirculation of air with fresh air inlet. (Mixing of two air streams with different total enthalpy)
A technical manual accompanies the unit.
The unit is provided with an attractive & rust proof powder coating.
